A cross-haul is an advanced rigging/hauling technique that allows a rope tech to transport equipment or materials in a lateral direction. It can also be used as part of a rescue scenario. Each hauling system should include a main and fixed back-up system in each direction of pull. If you’ve rigged the second hauling system in a separate location, you’ll need to direct another tech to operate the system. There’s a team exercise opportunity here.
